Can you believe that we are getting closer to spring? I am so excited to see flower buds ready to bloom, and the weather is getting a little warmer each day. There is nothing I love more than being outside. Whether it is time at the park, swimming, having a picnic at the beach, or working in the garden.

Easy Homemade Bug Repellent

But there is one area of the great outdoors I am not a huge fan of. BUGS! Bugs can truly be a damper to a good day. A few years ago we had an infestation of mosquitos, and you rarely wanted to step outdoors because you would get attacked within seconds. When we were getting hit hard with mosquitos and other bugs, I went to work on creating a homemade insect repellent that was loaded with natural essential oils.

These essential oils work really well in naturally repelling bugs. From flies, gnats, mosquitos, chiggers and more. Spread this vegan-friendly natural insect repellent on, and go out and enjoy your day.

What Is Going On With DEET

Here is the thing. If you use bug sprays I am sure you have heard of DEET. Some say stay away from DEET and others say you need a bug spray that has to have it. But there are mixed reviews on the safety of using any bug spray that contains DEET.

For us in our home, we are careful what chemicals we are spraying and rubbing on our body. If I can make a homemade bug spray that keeps the bugs away using some oils why not? I mean the goal here is to keep bugs away right?!

I have played with some of my favorite essential oils to come up with a beautiful mix that really helps keep those insects away as you play.
